Born 30/08/1923 in Howard Twsp. The son of Janet Mildred (nee McLarty) and Willard Simpson, Ray was the fifth of twelve children. Ray was educated at S.S.#4 (Green’s) and Ridgetown Vocational School. Ray originally enlisted in the Army in June 1943. Tpr. A118292 was reported in the Wallaceburg News as undergoing training at Camp Borden, ON.

He would, sometime later remustered to the RCAF in January of 1944.

The husband of M. Ruth (nee McMillan), the father of Janet (Hook), Jean (Nichols), Eileen (Lindsay) and Anne (Marshall). Ray farmed for over forty years.

Ray passed away 5 June, 2017, internment in Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim, ON.
