The daughter of S/Sgt. Harry and Mrs. Shirley formerly of Wallaceburg, moved to London, ON. CDN 1/08/44 A graduate of Victoria Hospital, London, ON. She attended Wallaceburg Public School and Wallaceburg High School.
It was reported that Miss Shirley had passed her examination for Registered Nurse. She was awaiting her call to report for duty in the Army as a Nursing Sister in the RCAMC. CDN 28/01/44
It was reported in the Wallaceburg News that Nursing Sister (NS.) was stationed at No. 16 Canadian General Hospital in Germany. Lieut. Shirley landed in Europe with the RCAMC shortly after VE-Day.
