Private Shine was attached to the Machine Gun Section of the 70th battalion going overseas Apr. 21, 1916.
He was drafted to France June 16 to reinforce the 58th battalion, CEF Lewis Machine Gun Section.
While heading for the Somme, he was fatally wound in the trenches Sept. 18, 1916, being admitted to Rouen Hospital where he died of wounds Sept. 21, 1916.
