Signaller William H. Shaw was actively engaged in Chatham as Scout Master. In the summer of 1912, in behalf of Scout movement, and at the City’s expense, he took a short training and instructional course at St. Andrew’s College, Toronto.
Signaller William H. Shaw trained at Rockcliffe, Ottawa, until December 1917, when he embarked for England, being stationed at Seaford. He was prevented from going to France owing to low medical category, and remained at Seaford until January 12th, 1919 when he was sent to demobilisation Camp at Rhyl, He arrived at Halifax. Nova Scotia January 28th, 1919.
Discharged at London February 4th 1919 due to demobilisation.
