Previous Military Experience: Trained with the 2nd Kent Regiment
History After Enlistment: Trained in London, Saskatchewan, Camp Borden and then Posted for overseas. Transferred to the Fort Garry Horse and served with the British Army of Liberation. Was wounded in both legs by bomb fragments.
The CDN 26/10/44 reported that Harold had been wounded in both legs by bomb fragments. On 19 October his mother received notice that he had been “slightly wounded”. Sgt. Shaw enlisted two years ago in Windsor with the 30th Recces and went overseas a year ago in June.
Arrived aboard the S.S. Mauritania from overseas docked at Halifax NS. 1 January, 1946.
