Sapper Carson Grover Shaw enlisted with the 186th. Battalion May 27th, 1916, but was rejected, and May 13th, 1918, joined the W.O.R. at London, transferring to the Canadian Engineers, After two weeks training he was sent to St. John’s, Quebec, leaving Montreal for overseas June 29th, 1918. He was stationed at Seaford until September 21st, when he took a course at an Imperial Camp at Longmoor, returning to Seaford after the signing of Armistice.
