Private Charles Henry Shamley went overseas with the 186th. Battalion March 26th, 1917, and proceeded to France August 26th, 1917, drafted to the 18th. Battalion, and reverted from Lance Corporal to Private. He received gunshot wounds in the right leg August 26th, 1918 and was admitted to the 1st. Casualty Clearing Station, and September 4th, 1918, to Northamptonshire Duston War Hospital, England. He was later transferred to Cottesbrooke V.A.D. Hospital, and again to Epsom War Hospital.
