Resident Wallaceburg

Clifford was a resident of Wallaceburg, ON. He was taken as a POW after the raid on Dieppe, France in August, 1942. His mother had been informed by the International Red Cross in Geneva that he was in Nazi Germany. CDN 21/09/42W-RH.

The WN 12/11/42 in an article “Letters To Prisoners of War” gave instructions that each letter or parcel should be addressed:

Prisioner of War Post,

Service des Prisionerd de Guerre.

Krugsgefangenenpost.
