w. Clare Sample trained at Medicine Hat from enlistment until June 1916, when moved to Sarcee Camp, Calgary, going overseas in Oct. 1916.
In England he trained at Bramshott Camp as Signaller, proceeding to France in June 1917, transferring to the 49th battalion.
He was killed in action Oct. 30, 1917.
