Son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Salisbury of 159 Selkirk St., Chatham, ON. Jack enlisted with the Royal Canadian Regt. in London, ON., 5/03/1940. Pte. Served overseas in England, N. Africa, Sicily, Italy and back to England. August of 1940. He took part in the invasion of Sicily and Italy. His boat was torpedoed and he spent several hous in a life raft before being rescued by and English destroyer. Reported arrived home from overseas duty CDN 7/05/45.
Received the 1939-45 Star, Defence of Britain Medal, the Italian Campaign Star and the C.V.S.M. ribbon.
