Pte. James Roebuck trained at Windsor and London with the 99th Battalion, going overseas in May 1915, on the “Olympic”. He was attached to the 35th Reserve Battalion, West Sandling, and was drafted for France, but contracted rheumatism the day previous to leaving, which left him unfit for military service in France. He was returned to Canada, and received his discharge at Quebec October 1st, 1916. He re-enlisted March 30th, 1918, as Lance Corporal, at London, with the C.M.P.C. serving six months.
Pte. James Roebuck received his discharge September 19, 1918, being medically unfit for further military service.
