Born 18/11/1916, the son of Alexander and Williamina ‘Minnie’ (Elligson). The brother of Lorraine, Alvin, David, Mac, Fergie, Evelyn (Summers) and Charlie.  The Husband of Florence.

Ike enlisted in the RCAF 8/09/1941 at Windsor, ON., and  served overseas in RCAF fighter command with 414 Squadron as an engine mechanic on Spitfire and Mustang fighters. 

Ike wrote home to the Merlin Community Club the following:

England 8 April, 1944.

Wish to thank you ever so much for the box of Nelson’s bars. They are certainly a treat compared to the chocolate over here.

After the war Ike was one of the founders of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 465 in Merlin. He married Florence (nee Precoor) 16/02/1946 and they had thee sons: Irvin Grant ‘Bud’, Gary, Paul.

Lloyd passed away 18 December, 2016 at the age of 100 years old. CDN 20/12/16.
