Gunner William Roberts served one and a half years with the 24th Kent Regiment Band.
Gunner William Roberts left with draft for England with the 55th Battery April 24th, 1916, proceeding to France in October 1916, transferring to the 2nd Canadian Divisional Ammunition Column. He served with this unit until 1918 then he transferred to 2nd Can Machine Gun Battn till Armistice, went with the army of occupation in Germany, left France April 15th 1919. He was a gas casualty at Passchendaele.
Discharged at St John May 28th 1919 due to demobilization.
