Roger enlisted 4 Sept., 1940, service number A56912. He trained at BTC No.12 – Chatham and Camp Borden.
It was reported that Lieutenant Ripley had a weekend leave at his home on Park Ave. West, Chatham. He had received his Officers Certificate in May from the Officers Training Centre in Brockville, ON. CDN 8/06/42
Lieut. Ripley is mentioned in the obituary for his mother Mrs. Rachel Maude Ripley who passed away Wednesday, 4 November, 1942 at the Public General Hospital. The funeral was to be on the 6th of November with interment in Mayhew cemetery Thamesville, ON. Served at No. 12 Basic Training Camp, Chatham, ON. and Camp Borden, ON. CDN 29/12/42
After the war Roger was employed at the Chatham Hydro until his retirement in 1975.
Roger passed away 19 August, 1992 at the age of 79 years. Buried at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham, ON.
