The son of Mrs. Edith Ridgers of 150 Park Avenue West, Chatham. While Pte. Ridgers was overseas his wife was living in Port Huron, Michigan.

Father of Janet and Doug. Arthur he was employed at the Ontario Steel Plant in Chatham, ON., prior to his enlistment. He enlisted in May of 1943, received his basic trained at BTC No.12 in Chatham and went on to Ipperwash in July.    

Served overseas one year and nine months, in Holland and Germany. Was wounded in Germany and holds the rank of Acting Sergeant.

Arthur had been wounded in the leg while fighting in Holland thus his return to Chatham 

Date of Discharge: August 1, 1946

Arthur passed away 8 July, 1993.
