Private Donald L. Richardson enlisted in the Stretcher Bearer Section of the 186th Battalion, leaving for overseas March 26th, 1917. He trained with the 4th Reserve Battalion, Bramshott, until May 1917, when he proceeded to France, serving with the 10th Battalion, C.R.T. In November 1917 he was gassed, returning to his unit after five and a half weeks hospital treatment. He was promoted to Corporal.
