Prior to enslistment, Private Mark George Reed served four years with the 2nd V.B. Royal Fusiliers, # 4572. Private, in B.Company, receiving his discharge May 28th, 1903, being medically unfit.

After enlistment, Private Mark George Reed trained with the 186th Battalion in London for about three weeks when he met with an accident while drilling which rendered him unfit for active service and was appointed on Military Police duty, where he served until his discharge.

Private Mark George Reed received his honorable discharge from Camp Borden September 22nd, 1916, being unfit for military service.
