Private Harry S. Ralph left for overseas with the 241st Battalion April 20th, 1917, training with the 5th Reserve Battalion until September 5th, 1917, when he proceeded to France drafted to the 20th Canadian Battalion. He received wounds at Amiens, August 8th, 1918, and after hospital treatment returned to active service in November 1918, with the 20th Battalion, which as part of the army of occupation marching to Siegburg, Germany, ten miles east of the Rhine. In January 1919 they started on their return journey to the French coast.
