The son of Mr. and Mrs. George Proctor of Inshes Ave., Chatham.

Previous Military Experience: Joined the Air force April 10th 1942 and was discharged on July 9th 1942 due to ear trouble.

James Proctor served with the navy nearly three years. He was on Striking Force duty in Bay of Biscay and the English Channel. He sailed from Ports Londonderry, Portsmouth and Sheerness and was promoted from ordinary coder to Leading coder and received the usual decorations.

The CDN 26/05/43 stationed at St. Hyacinthe, PQ. had returned to his duties after visiting at home. The CDN 17/09/43 reported that Coder Proctor had been spending a twenty-eight day furlough. He had taken his departure for the east coast.

The CDN 7/11/44 reported that James was on ‘invasion leave’ at his mothers house on Inshes Ave, with his guest PO. Colin Mullins of Bristol, England. James was reported returning to the east coast in the CDN 29/11/44.  

Date of Discharge: October 31, 1945

James passed away 30 Sept. 2009. CDN-Obit.
