The son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernard Pritchard of Joseph St., Chatham. As a former student at the Chatham Collegiate Institute Gordon returned to the school to talk about the RCAF and the Wireless Air Gunners course. CDN 24/02/44 It was reported that Gordon returned to Calgary to continue his training.

LAC Pritchard was reported home on a 10 day leave from Mosse Bank, SK, [near Moose Jaw] where he was on a course. CDN 14/06/44
The CDN 5/08/44 reported that Gordon had passed his qualifications for WAG. The CDN Aug. 44 reported that 19 year old, Gordon had received his Wings at the parade. P.O. Pritchard received his commission. He was home on a short stay with his parents before leaving for the west coast.
He would marry Madeline Hannah (nee Newbury) CDN 10/03/47. A daughter Mary Anne was born in 1947 (CDN 10/03/50) she would later marry James Alexander Gordon Simpson in 1972. They would also have a son Ronald Edward born in 1953 (CDN 22/09/72).
Trained at Toronto, Calgary, Moss Bank, Saskatchewan Patricia Bay and Vancouver Island.
Served at Yarmouth, N.S., Sydney, Cape Breton Island, and was promoted to the rank of Flying Officer.
Received the Service Ribbon, 1939-45 Star, Eighteen months service ribbon and Maple Leaf.
