Born 14/11/1921 the son of Norman S. and Ethel Pretty. The brother of Orvil, Olive, John and Lenore.  Gordon enlisted 26/08/1942 and served with the Carleton & York Regt.

After going overseas on the Queen Elizabeth in March of 1943, Gordon served in the United Kingdom, the Mediterranean theatre and in N. W. Europe. He was reported wounded in the left leg by a mortor round in August in August of 1943 in Italy and wounded again by a mortor 19 May, 1944 CDN 20/06/44, on the Hitler Line. He was reported being in the front lines in Holland when the war ended. He also served in Germany. S. K. Petty.  Gordon was reported to be returning from oversea duty aboard the S.S. Nieuw Amsterdam, CDN 26/09/45, he was given an honourable. Discharged 13/11/1945.

Gordon married Marion (Williams) and they had the following children Richard, Alan, Lynn (Bell), Joan (Badder), Scott, Cheryl (McInerney), Keith and Norman. He was reported living at R. R. # 7 Thamesville in 1980. He farmed in the Wabash area. {(P) Dresden}.  Submission from Samuel Keith Pretty 26/09/13.

Gordon passed away Thursday, 13 November, 2014 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, one day before his 93rd birthday. Burial at Dresden Cemetery. CDN-Obit 15/11/14.
