Private Harry B. Pleasence arrived in England January 17th, 1916, proceeding to France February 1st. He first went in action at the Battle of the Somme July 1st, and was gassed at La Bassee in August. Pte. Pleasence was in the first car to be driven over Vimy Ridge in April 1917, and served until furlough was granted November 7th, 1917, when he returned to Canada, going back to England January 27th, 1918.
