The son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pettifer of Wallace Street, Wallaceburg, ON. Sgt. Donald was spending Christmas with his parents. Prior to his enlistment he was employed at the Dominion Glass Co. Don was reported stationed at RCAF-Lachine where he was taking a course in Radio Detection. WN 6/08/42  The Wallaceburg News reported that LAC Pettifer was stationed at RCAF Louisburg, NS. WN-date unknown.

The WN 22/07/43 reported that Don had completed his radio technician course at RCAF-Clinton. He and his wife from Montreal took a two week vacation with Don’s family. After the vacation Don was transferred to the east coast.
