Born on 7 November 1920 at Chatham, ON.  The son of Mr. and Mrs. William Peters of 83 Wellington St. East, Chatham.   Dayton was married to Ann Louise and was living at 290 ½ St. Clair St., Chatham with her two young sons.  Prior to his enlistment he was a tinsmith by trade.   He served overseas for seventeen months after his enlistment in 2 December 1944 at London, ON.

He trained at London, ON., Chatham, Ipperwash and Debert, NS.

The CDN 22/02/45 reported that Pte. Peters had arrived overseas as a infantry reinforcement.  He served overseas for seventeen months after his enlistment.

Date of Discharge: July 27, 1946
