The son of Maurice and Irma Perdu. The brother of Pauly and a brother John Joseph (V46987). Married to Mildred (nee Fraser), the father of Dan, Randy, Diane (Brown) and Wayne.

It was reported in the Ridgetown newspaper in Dec. 1943 that ‘smokes’ were sent to this soldier. RIN 5/12/17

Charles served aboard HMCS Giffard (K402) part of EG C-1 sailing out of Londonderry, N. Ireland. On 7/05/1944 she rescued 49 survivors of the torpedoed HMCS Valleyfield. The ship underwent a major refit at Liverpool, N.S., which was completed in March of 1945 and did her workup in Bermuda. The ship rejoined convoy duty in May with HX.335. The ship was paid off 5/07/45.

Charles passed away at his residence in Chatham, ON 29/03/2015 and was interned at Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown, ON.
