Born in 1918 at Chatham, ON., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Reginald Pepper of Selkirk St., Chatham, ON. The brother of Madeline (Kearney), Shirley (Britton), Wanda (Johnston), Kenneth and Harold. The husband of June (nee Cummings) 14/06/41; the father of Nancy, Ross, Brian, Wayne and Gerald.

Completing his basic training at the Toronto Manning Pool, Ottis was assigned to No. 1 Bombing School at Jarvis, ON.  He had been home on leave when reported in CDN 1/09/42. 

Odis Pepper trained at Toronto, Jarvis, Fingal, Hagersville, Mountain View, and Trenton. He was promoted to Corporal and was instructor at Air Stations, Fingal, Medicine Hat, Assiniboine Neepawa, Winnipeg and Vancouver.

It was reported that Mrs. Pepper spent a weekend  in Toronto at the home of Miss Marion Cummings (Mrs. Pepper’s sister-in-law) while Odis was training at the Toronto Manning Pool. CDN 10/02/42. In March Odis was still staying in Toronto when his wife June came for another weekend visit. CDN 10/03/42 Stationed at RCAF – Toronto Otis was reported in Chatham on leave to visit his wife and parents. 

The CDN 31/03/43 reported that AC Pepper was stationed at RCAF – Fingal. Otis had spent a two weeks furlough in the city with his wife and parents on Selkirk St.

The CDN 9/06/43 reported he was stationed at RCAF – Mt. View. He was home to see his wife and parents.  The CDN 26/06/43 reported that Cpl. Otis Pepper had been posted to Medicine Hat, AB. as an instructor at the Flying training School. He was able to spend a couple of weeks with his wife and his parents.

Cpl. and Mrs. O.L. Pepper, then stationed at Neepawa, MB. were visiting Mrs. Reginald Pepper of Selkirk St., Chatham. He and his wife also visited Mrs Ross Cummings and son Robert living in Blenheim. CDN 7/06/4  He and his wife were reported to have spent two weeks of vacation at Harrison Park in Owen Sound. CDN 13/08/42.

Date of Discharge: September 12th 1945

Odis passed away 15 July, 1982, at the age of 64 years, interment at St. Anthony’s Cemetery – Chatham, ON.
