Born 1907 and passed away in 1989.  Husband of Amy May (nee Osmon) Paterson who passed away in 2001.  Children are Irene, married name is Campbell (passed away in September 2024), Robert (passed away in 2001), William (passed away in 1991), Alan (passed away in 2017), Gary (passed away 1993), James (passed away in 1992), Colin.

Appears on the “Muster Roll” of the 2nd Bn., Kent Regiment (MG), N.P.A.N. (date unknown).

Previous Military Experience: Served with the Kent Regiment for eight years.

History After Enlistment: Trained and served in Windsor, Ipperwash and other Canadian Camps.

Date of Discharge: January 31st, 1946

Dad worked for Wonder Bakeries as a salesman, supervisor then Chatham Branch Manager until the depot closed in 1971.  Then he was wholesale representative for Maple City Bakery until retirement in 1974.  He volunteered with the Royal Canadian Legion (was also a drummer in their pipe band for many years), First Presbyterian Church, Sons of Scotland Benevolent Association, Good Cheer Club for the Adult Handicapped and Wellington Lodge.  He also entertained at nursing homes and other local facilities, playing fiddle and piano with various groups including “Scotty and Friends.”

Robert passed away 4 August, 1989 at the age of 81 years old.
