Pte. Highland Light Infantry 9/07/44. The son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Parker of 25 Selkirk St., Chatham. His father served four years in the Great War. Father of Randy Parker (youngest son).

Previous Military Experience: Served with the Kent Regiment for seven years.

History After Enlistment: Transferred to the H.L.I. of Canada in May 1942 and went overseas. Promoted to the rank of Corporal.

Harry was reported home for a few days furlough with Mrs. Parker in mid-April 1942, at the time he was stationed on the west coast. CDN 14/04/42

Harry appears in a CDN photo 14/08/44 along with Pte. Larry Dykes from Chatham both then serving in France.

Date of Discharge: November 1945

 

Harry passed away 29 January, 1999 at the age of 79 years old.
