Newspaper article: “KILLED AT VIMY RIDGE – William T. Pake: Was one of the original member of the Western Univ. Battalion 

Pte. William Tweddle Pake, one of the original members of the 196th Western University Batt., has been killed in action according to telegraphic advices received here yesterday. 

Pte. Pake is well known in Victoria and has some relatives here. After reaching England with the 196th , he was drafted into the 46th  Battalion and with that unit he fought until killed presumably ay Vimy Ridge. Twenty- two years of age and unmarried, Pte. Pake was a school teacher at Telegraph Creek, BC. before enlisting.  – “ Daily Colonist – 17/04/17”
