The son of Mrs. O. M. Drouillard of 115 Joseph St., Chatham. He was a former CVS student who enlisted in 1941 and went overseas in November of that year. While he was was in England he sustained a broken leg and arm.
He left England in October of 1943 and went to Italy where he had been serving ever since. “In Italy while aiding in demolishing a bombed building he injured his hand and infection developed.”
Jerry Ouellette went overseas in November 1941 and served in Italy one year. He was wounded in right arm and leg and invalided home and was hospitalized in Westminster Hospital, London.
As a result of his injury he was invalided home. His mother received a cable that he had landed in Halifax and a telephone message at five o’clock the 28th of April, he arrived in Chatham at seven o’clock, he was just 19 years old.
