The son of Mr. and Mrs. Nate Oliphant. Brother of John/Jack Nathan Oliphant.
The DT 25/03/43 reported that Roy was stationed at Niagara-on-the-Lake when he was given a few days leave.
The CDN 22/07/44 reported that Pte Roy Oliphant had been seriously wounded overseas. The CDN reported that his parents thought he was with the invasion troops in Normandy.
Roy had been reported as being WIA while serving overseas.
Private Oliphant was wounded at the Battle of Caen, France on July 8th, 1944. Returned home and given a honorable discharge. The DN 26/12/45 was reported discharged from hospital in Toronto so he was able to spend Christmas with his parents.
