SOS effect 23/04/19 -Authority 72 Hospital, section 6/02/20. “ Having been found by a Court of Inquiry held 22/01/29 to bi-illegally absent since the 29/12/19 is SOS as a deserter with effect from 19/01/20.
Sailed from Halifax aboard the S.S. Lapland 28/03/17 Debarked at Liverpool 7/04/17 – Served in Canada, England, France and Belgium – Age: 39 yrs. 6 mths.
Contracted Influenza 20/10/17 – Discharged 6/02/18
Sometime between 3/10/17 Joseph was dangerously ill from his wounds. Some improving 13/10/17. Transferred to # 56 General Hospital – Estables to 20/10/17. Transferred to Cdn. War Hospital – Norwick. His wounds, included GSW and to his left ankle 1/10/18. 19/10/18 Invalided to England to Ont. Military Hospital at Orpingyon, Kent.
Joseph would be transferred from Orpington to 18th General Hoap. – Cambrudge, 17/10/18 to Eastern Gen. Hosp Cambridge 3/10/18. 16 Cdn General – Orpington 25/10/18. 6/02/19 he was at 5th General – Kirkdale 6/02/19, (GSW Left Leg 24/02/19 an Invaleded to Canada.
“ Wounded by GSW in October 1818, face with resulting right side and resulting fracture right lower jaw. Admitted to No. 18 General Hosp. where F. B. was removed from this he passed through usual hospital Channels.
