The son of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. and Clara Noyes of Prince St. North, Chatham, ON. His wife Hazel originally from Prince Edward Island had been serving with the CWAC as a Lieutenant, stationed in Africa where she met Clark.
Previous Military Experience: Served with a signalling corps in Saskatoon, Sask.
After Enlistment, Clark Orrin Noyes went overseas as a sergeant-navigator in June 1941. He was commissioned in January 1943 and was promoted to Flight Lieutenant in September 1944. Served three months on operational flying in England, then to Malta for three months in 1942, and then to Sharjah on the Persian Gulf from April 1942 to February 1943. His flights over the Arabian Sea and Persian Gulf were in the nature of convoying lend-lease supplies to Russia.
Hazel arrived in Chatham on the 18th of February, 1945. In fact he returned before his wife who was reported returning from overseas on the same ship as Eileen Walker the wife of Flt. Sgt. Joe Walker of Chatham. CDN 31/01/45.
