Pte. William J. Nichols trained with the 186th Battalion in Canada, going overseas in March 1917. He was drafted for France in June 1917, but pronounced medically unfit for active service, and was given charge of the Reading Room at Bramshott. November 26th, 1917, he was returned to Canada, and attached to the Special Service Company, London, Ontario, where he served until his discharge.
Private William J. Nichols received his discharge February 11th, 1918, due to being medically unfit for further military service.
