From Merlin, ON.  The eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James S. Newham of Merlin.

The Merlin Standard 17/02/44 reported being transferred from Paulson, MB. The MS 13/01/44 had returned to RCAF-Paulson MB. after a 12 day leave. She had been stationed at Paulson for the past year. The MS 2/03/44 reported LAW Newham of Ottawa spent a week-end with her parents. 

The MS 1944 (date unknown) reported that Wing Commander  C. Dowie DFC and Bar of Leader SK., Officer Commanding the Repatriation Depot at Rockcliffe, ON and LAW Mary Margret Newham  RCAF(WD) were married 28/04/44 in the Chapel at Rockcliffe. 

After a short honey moon the couple took up residence in Ottawa. It was expected that Mrs. Dowie would be home for a short visit with her parents in Merlin.
