Born 3/02/1913. The son of Mrs. Clara Nagle of 82 Harvey St., Chatham, ON. Prior to his enlistment Edward operated a gas station and garage on Wellington St. in Chatham.
Appears on the “Muster Roll” of the 2nd Bn., Kent Regiment (MG), N.P.A.N. (date unknown)
Trained in Canada with the 30 Recce Regt. Went overseas and served in Italy where he suffered desert blindness temporarily.
The CDN 10/09/43(P) reported after his training with the 30th Recce Regt. (Essex RCAC), service A87145, he arrived overseas.
Edward transferred three years ago last July (1944) from the 2nd Kent Regt. and joined the 30th Recce to go on ‘active service’, transferring again to the Trois Riviere Tanks he served in Italy, Holland and Belgium. The CDN reported that he was aboard the Queen Elizabeth for Canada.
