The son of  Mr. and Mrs. Grant Murray of 73 St. Patrick St., Wallaceburg. Their father was a veteran of WWI.   The husband of Helen Virginia (nee Cushman) of Inshes Ave., Chatham. CDN 10/06/44.

The CDN 9/04/43(P) reported that Merrill was training at Lachine, PQ. and Neil Gordon was in Brandon, MB, both were hoping to be pilots. The brothers were born in Saskatoon but had lived in Chatham for eleven years. They attended Queen Mary Public School and Chatham Collegiate Institute. Both of the boys were prominent in sports particularly in baseball, basketball and hockey.   

Sgt. Pilot Murray and his wife resided in Three Rivers, PQ. where Merrill was stationed.

Served in Toronto, Lachine, Moncton, N. S. Weyburn, Sask., St. Catherines and Mountain View. Received his Wings at Weyburn.

Date of Discharge: March 18th, 1945
