The son of Mr. and Mrs. Of Gloucester, New Jersey, formerly of Tilbury. Frank was reported returning to Camp Howze, Texas after he had a 10 day furlough with his parents. TT 24/06/43.

The Tilbury Times, Thursday, 29 November, 1917 reported:

“Three Tilburyites Reported Killed and Wounded.”

“Word was received here last week of the following local casualties at the front. Frank Mowatt, who formerly worked at the Tilbury Tile Plant and who enlisted here and left for the front with the 186th. His brother also attached to the 186th was reported wounded some time ago.”

Others mentioned were Ben Faubert WIA and John Tulley KIA 3/11/17.All three were in action in the battle for Passchendaele.
