Born in Dahinda, SK. where his parents were still residing. He had two brothers also serving Sgt. Frederick William of Chatham and Robert John of Wallaceburg.

George was reported in the CDN 18/11/44 returning after two years of service. He was the guest of honour at a dinner put on by his sister Mrs. Delbert  Richmond along with his wife and baby daughter. He would report for duty in the New Year.
