John Morrison and Rose, of 329 MacKenzie Str., Sarnia, ON. A single student living at his father’s home. Prior to enlisting Lancelot served one year with the 27th Regt. and one year with the Highland Light Infantry. Attestation: 3/05/1916 at London, ON.; height 5’ 8”, 128 lbs.
Lancelot was taken on strength (TOS) with 63rd Depot Battery at his enlistment transferred to 3rd Bde. CFA (Canadian Field Artillery) at London, ON. 3/05/16 (1st Draft) Arrived in England 24/08/16. He served in France with the 12th Field Battery.
He was wounded at the Battle of Vimy Ridge a GSW to the left shoulder 18/04/17 (X-Ray of wound attached to his medical file) Transferred to 1st Northern General Hospital at Newcastle 22/04/17. Transferred to No.26 General Hospital – Estaples Transferred to Cdn. Military Hospital – Eastbourne, Eng. 9/05/17. His “medical Board” 20/06/17 at Eastbourne OK to return to active service, No Disability.
In April 1918 he was reported suffering from Tonsillitis and taken up y 46 Field Ambulance 9/04/18. He was discharged 12/04/1.
In April of 1919 he was being treated for Influenza, a milder strain of the Spanish Flu of 1918 but he was hospitalized at #4 Canadian General Hospital – Basingstoke, England. He was discharged 24/04/1919
His discharge from the Army was dated 12/06/1919 at No.1 District Depot, London, ON. He had embarked at Liverpool 2/06/1919 aboard the S.S. Lapland departing 2/06/19.
