Regimental No. 6709. A member of the Letter Carriers staff and the post office was reported sudden taken ill. Reported a popular Chatham man and a veteran of the war. An attack of appendicitis and was immediate removal to the Public General Hospital. The operation and he is in a serious condition.

Pte. Clifford Morrice entrained for Valcartier August 22nd, 1914, sailing on the “Laurentic” in September for England. After training at Salisbury Plains, he proceeded to France, entering the trenches February 4th, 1915. He received severe wounds in the head May 25th, 1915, at Festubert, and was invalided to Canada October 8th, 1915, being the first Chatham soldier to be returned.
Pte. Clifford Morrice received his honorable discharge at Quebec October 8th, 1915.
