The son of Mr. W. C. and Mrs. Winifred Moore of 196 Inches Avenue, Chatham, ON. As a young boy he was a Chatham Daily News Carrier boy, delivering the paper.
Served overseas four years and promoted from Stoker 2 to Petty Officer.
James then a Stoc. 2 in May of 1942 celebrated his 23rd birthday. He was then serving in the RCNVR on active duty, also the Silver Anniversary of his parents.
