L/Cpl. John Walter Moody was promoted to Corporal while training in Canada, and went overseas June 27th, 1916. He served as Instructor while in England, and reverting to Private, crossed to France in August 1916. He was wounded by a bomb October 13th, 1916, and after Hospital treatment returned to his unit about four weeks later, attached to No.6 Machine Gun Section. December 3rd. 1916, he was gassed at Vimy Ridge, and admitted to Hospital in France and later in England.
