Private John Walter Miner served three years with the Middlesex Regiment.
Private John Walter Miner left for overseas with the 161st Battalion October 27th, 1916, and arrived in England November 8th, 1916. He proceeded to France November 18th, 1916 to the 58th Battalion. January 16, 1917 he received a promotion to Lance Corporal and served until admitted to hospital March 14th, 1917, suffering from neuritis. After ten months hospital treatment he was returned to Canada, arriving at Halifax January 8th, 1918. He continued hospital treatment at Guelph until his discharge.
Private John Walter Miner received his discharge March 10th, 1918, being medically unfit for further military service.
