Laddie enlisted in the RCAF in September of 1943. He served in Canada only on the Pacfific coast and was stationed for a time on Langora Island, BC. He was discharged from the RCAF 30/05/1946.

The husband for sixty years to Anne (nee Motycka) and the father of Barbara (Poole), Larry, Ginny (O’Neil). Laddie was an avid sportsman and coached minor hockey for ove 25 years, usually the travel teams. He also sponsored and coached ladies Slo-Pitch.

For fifty years he “mended soles” and sharpened skates at Laddies Shoe Repair before retiring. Laddie passed away Monday, 21 July, 2014 at home, surrounded by his family. Burial in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Chatham, ON.
