Born in Ridgetown, ON., Parents Delbert and Effie (nee Wilkinson) The brother of Tpr. Velbert, stationed at Camp Ipperwash. Robert who had served overseas and had been given an Honorable Discharge after serving in the Nova Scotia Regt. and Marvin who was serving in a Recon. Regt. overseas. [DOD 22/01/2012].

He was educated in Windsor, at Victoria Ave. Public School and Windsor Vocational High School. Prior to his enlistment he was employed by the Ford Motor Co. in Windsor.

Delbert arrived overseas in January 1942. He was reported KIA – 3/08/43. Buried at Bretteville-Sur-Laize Calvados, France. CWGC, (photo).
