Son of Romanie Meyers of Chatham, ON. A single labourer living at Candle St., Chatham, ON. Attestation: 24/10/1916 at Chatham, to 186th Bn.
Private G Meyers enlisted in 186th Batt Oct 1916 and after training in Chatham proceeded overseas with that unit in Mar 1917 and trained at Bramshott Camp until Feb 1918 when he proceeded to France and joined 1st Batt. Later he transferred to the 4th Batt and served on the Amiens front, then to Canal du Nord, Cambrai and Pegnicourt. He was with the Army of Occupation in Germany until Feb 1919 when he returned to Belgium, thence to Rhyl to await passage to Canada. He arrived in Canada June 10th 1919.
He was slightly wounded in the leg by a piece of shrapnell at Cambrai..
Discharged at London June 12th 1919 due to demobilisation.
