Reference: RG 150, Accession 1992-93/166, Box 7180 – 47 Date of Birth 26/10/1892 at Cedar Springs, ON. The son of Alex and Annie Louise (nee Nagle) McPherson of Cedar Springs, Kent Co., ON. Ewart attended Cedar Springs public school, Blenheim Continuation School and Chatham Collegiate Institute. He attended the University of Toronto gaining his MD. In 1916. He trained with the university military training corps in his final year.

A physician living in Cedar Springs. Member of CAMC. Attestation: 12/06/1916 at Exhibition Camp, Toronto, ON. to C.A.M.C. – CEF. He went overseas in June of 1916 stationed at the Canadian Hospitals at Bath, Hastings, Buxton and Faxton. In April of 1917 he was sent to France manning a Casualty Crearing Station behind the lines at Vimy Ridge until December of 1917 when he was transferred to No.2 Canadian Stationary Hospital, Boulogne.
After the war he returned to Toronto as the resident surgeon at St. Michael’s Hospital until 1920 when he moved to Blenheim, ON. to open a general practice from 1920 to 1949. He was also the Coroner and Medical Officer of Health for Blenheim.
Married to Ethel Alberta (nee Lunman), they had two children, Alexander Hugh and Jean Louise (Britton).
Dr. McPherson passed away in 1949.
