The son of Mr. and Mrs. A. S. McLean of Petrolia, ON. Archie spent his early years in Chatham, attending Queen Mary Public School. He moved to Petrolia at the age of nine his father was formerly the chief engineer at the Libby plant in Chatham.
The CDN 27/09/44 reported that Sgt. Pilot was reported “missing in air operations”.
