Born 20 May, 1920, Scane Sideroad, Howard Township.  the son of John and Sarah (nee Thomson) McLaren, the brother of Edward, Duncan, Harold, Marjorie, John, Alexander and Ethel. Donald attended public school at S.S. #2 Howard at Morpeth, Howard Twsp., Kent Co., ON. He attended high school in Ridgetown, ON. and furthered his education at the University of Western Ontario, London, ON. gaining a degree in Business Administration.

He was called up for military duty in October of 1942 serving in the Royal Canadian Ordenance Corp (R.C.O.C.) C.A. with the S15 Mechanical Training School, at Queen’s Park, London, ON. Donald left for overseas assignment in March of 1944 leaving Canada from Nova Scotia. Upon arrival in England he was stationed at Aldershot, Hampshire, England.

After being discharged from the army at the conclusion of the war Donald became the Masey-Ferguson dealer in Tilbury, ON. Donald married Annie Ruth (nee Gladstone) they had no children

Donald passed away 26/12/1977 in Chatham, ON. and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Ridgetown, ON.
